The NCRS Foundation

Mission Statement

Formed in 2006, the National Corvette Restorers Society Foundation is a 501(c) 3 Charity designed to provide an individual and/or corporate sponsors an avenue to make contributions of monies, non-cash items such as stock/securities or Corvette archive memorabilia to support the NCRS Scholarship program and the NCRS Charity program.

Message from the NCRS Foundation Chair

I am pleased to announce that at the March NCRS Foundation Board Meeting, approval was given to include a new Scholarship category for students pursuing an Automotive Industry career. Students in this category will be attending either an automotive-related technical school or college. In addition, the board approved to add two additional scholarships for the 2012-2013 school year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all members who encouraged students to apply for the NCRS Foundation Scholarships for the past 3 years. It is our intention to award the additional 2 scholarships to the new Automotive category provided applications are received and all criteria is met along with the General Scholarships and the Marvin Burnett Memorial Scholarship.  With that said, we will be accepting applications from NCRS members or children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews  of NCRS members in good standing for all scholarship categories for the 2012-2013 school year from June 1 through August 1, 2012. (See Guidelines and application)

As a reminder,  this program can only continue and grow through the generosity of its members. It is not too late to get on board and become a member of the Foundation. We have begun the journey to build the Foundation to support the scholarship program. I would like to challenge all members of the NCRS to become members of the Foundation. If you previously contributed, I would ask that you add to that contribution to build on to your Life Time Level Award.

Scholarships

Since beginning in 2006 the Foundation has grown enough to now begin to offer limited Scholarships. It is with great excitement that we will begin accepting Scholarship applications for both the General Scholarship and the Marvin Burnett Memorial Scholarship. As was previously communicated in the minutes of the July 2009 Board of Directors meeting of the NCRS Foundation, the board has authorized for the first scholarships to be awarded. Due to the timing of this decision and the development of the Process & Guidelines for awarding the scholarships and the application itself, we felt that we still would like to begin awarding scholarships from the NCRS Foundation in the 2009-2010 school year.

We will be awarding (4) General Scholarships and (1) Marvin Burnett Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1000. We will take applications from students who have completed the first semester and have confirmation enrollment in the Spring semester until August 13th, 2011. We will be accepting applications from NCRS members or children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews of NCRS members in good standing until August 13th, 2011 for the 2011-2012 school year.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to the Foundation to make these scholarships possible. Congratulations to the 64 members who were awarded Charter Member Pins at the National Convention in 2010 at San Jose. Although the time limit has passed to become a Charter Member of the Foundation, it is not too late to get on board and become a member of the Foundation. We have begun the journey to build the Foundation to support the education of our members or children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews of our members in good standing. I would like to challenge all members of the NCRS to become members of the Foundation. If you previously contributed, I would ask that you add to that contribution to build on to your Life Time Level Award. If you have any questions, please feel free to call (636) 462-4401 CDT or send an me an email. I look forward to serving you as the Chair of the NCRS Foundation Joan Burnett.
